My air conditioner is filled with mold.
My husband takes our window air conditioners outside and cleans them every year.
We have two smaller AC units that are very easy to lift and carry outside.
The AC unit in the living room is so heavy that we need to have someone help us lift it and put it in the window. Last week, my husband decided it was time to clean the AC units again. He took the two small air conditioners outside. By the time he had them cleaned, sanitized and back into the windows, he was exhausted. All I kept hearing was how much his hands and back were hurting. I kept telling him to take his time; the temperatures were only in the sixties and we wouldn’t need them for a couple weeks. He was sure that the temperatures would change quickly and we would need the air conditioning soon. The problem was that by the time he got done with the two smaller AC units; he was exhausted and hurting. He didn’t want to do the larger one. That’s when I remembered this same thing happened last year and a couple years previously. I convinced him he had to attempt the larger of the AC units. I’m glad he did because the inside of the AC unit was filled with mold. That’s when he realized the great room AC unit hadn’t been cleaned since we had moved into our house, nearly twelve years ago. He smiled and told me to go into the house because he didn’t want to hear any of my ‘I told you so’s’.
