Emergency services carry an extra fee of $25

I hung up the phone, took a shower, and got dressed

I work for an HVAC repair company that offers Emergency Services after hours and on sundays. We offer regular services on Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. We try to get everyone to schedule their appointments during these hours. We do offer emergency services to all of our residential and commercial customers. Emergency services for residential customers carry an extra fee of $25. It’s not a huge amount of money, but the extra fee goes directly into the pocket of the service technician that has to get up in the middle of the night to help a customer. Last week, I was the service technician on call for night time services. Around one in the morning, I received a phone call from the answering service. The guy gave me the phone number of the person that was in need of emergency repair services. I contacted the telephone number. The customer answered the phone on the first ring. I tried to get the customer to schedule the service appointment for the next day. I immediately told the man that it was going to cost an extra $25 for me to come out there at that time to look at the AC unit. The guy told me that he would have paid $125 to get the air conditioner fixed immediately. I hung up the phone, took a shower, and got dressed. I was out the door in less than 15 minutes. I grabbed a cup of coffee at the gas station and drove to the address of the emergency HVAC repair.
