At first I thought something was wrong with the thermostat
My kid is regularly increasing the temperature control, and it is driving me crazy! I never had this concern when he was younger.
- I miss the days when our kid was too short to adjust the temperature control or touch anything that he is not supposed to! Now, our kid is a teenager, and apparently, he thinks that he runs this house.
We have established clear rules in our home for behavior and have set clear limits on things, but our kid completely ignores them. One of the rules that we have is that you cannot touch the temperature control. We have a gas furnace and a central A/C unit, and we use them. Currently, our temperature control is always set to 78 degrees. Ever since our husband and I have been married, this has been the setting on our temperature control, and it is our intention to keep it that way, it has become apparent that our kid prefers a colder temperature, because he is regularly increasing the temperature control to keep our central A/C device running time. At first, I thought that there was something wrong with our temperature control. I couldn’t figure out why our home was so cold. I would set the temperature control, and then an hour or two later, the A/C device would be running again. Finally, I caught my kid changing the temperature control, and I yelled at him. Now, he adjusts the temperature control at least twice a week despite being grounded, losing his gaming system, and being told not to. I don’t know what to do about the temperature control, but maybe I should buy a lockbox.
