Are you sure you changed the air filters last month?
I was at my sister’s looking at her furnace. She told me she didn’t have good airflow and wanted to know if I could check out the furnace. When I got to her house, I jokingly asked what she would do if she didn’t have an HVAC technician in the family? She told me she would have to find a single HVAC technician and force him to marry her. All I could do was laugh, and I was still laughing when I got downstairs. The first thing I did was check the air filter. I yelled upstairs and told her I needed her assistance. Five minutes later, she poked her head in the door and asked if it was an emergency. I told her I only needed her for two minutes. I showed her the air filter, and asked when she last changed it. She swore she changed the air filter about a month ago. About a month ago wasn’t good enough. She said she was positive she had changed the air filter on the first, just like her husband had told her to do. I showed the air filter and asked if she could see anything. She shook her head and shrugged. The air filter was so clogged that there was no way she could get airflow. After looking at the ductwork, I called the HVAC company. I wanted a team of ductwork cleaners to clean the ductwork, check for any crack or holes, and sanitize the ductwork. My sister looked at me like I was a monster. I told her this could be the reason for her lack of airflow and the continuous repairs to her furnace.
