That could have been worse

My three young boys were convinced that our beach house had become haunted.

They tend to stay up later than I do, but according to them late at night they would hear creepy noises coming from the attic.

One of them said there was something moving in the crawlspace behind the second story walls, and they were afraid an evil force had ended up storming the home, i took a quick look in the attic and our suspicions were confirmed — it was something far more dreadful and damaging than any ghost, it was squirrels! Somehow these pests had gotten in through an exterior air vent, although I couldn’t find exactly where. It took a couple seconds of searching every single area and cranny of the ventilation plan before I realized I was looking in the wrong area. The squirrels were not in the HVAC duct, they were in the attic itself, so I searched the exterior of the house. I found a small air duct that was absolutely a metal housing for the Heating and A/C plan cables and hoses leading in from the exterior air handler. They had not destruction the Heating and A/C unit, only used that tiny crawlspace to slip inside the house, where it seemed that they were all starting to create. This would only get worse, so I shut down the Heating and A/C plan and called in a pest control supplier to try and drive these varmints from our home, while it was an expense I was not expecting, it would have been worse, because the cost was far less than getting myself a modern central Heating and A/C system.
