My Bedroom Was Too Hot

Most people don’t want to get sick, and when they do, they don’t enjoy it.

When I got sick last week, I was actually relieved.

I’m a very busy person and my days are jam packed with things like working, taking care of the kids, managing the housework, etc. Getting sick was the excuse I needed to lay in bed and not do a single thing. I had big plans for myself. I wanted to lay in bed and watch endless hours of TV, eat as many snacks as I wanted, and catch up on my sleep. I knew I’d be itching to get out of the house before the week was over, but I told myself that I was going to relax and enjoy my space as long as possible. Everything started off smoothly, but then something horrible happened. Our furnace started acting odd, and we couldn’t get an HVAC professional to come service it for a whole week. Our furnace began heating and cooling rooms differently, and my bedroom was the hottest. It felt like I was literally inside the furnace, but I couldn’t leave that space. I was quarantining in that room alone, and I didn’t want to risk infecting any other areas of the house. I laid in bed with no covers and took cold showers as often as possible, and I continued to sweat. In fact, I was sweating so much that I had to change my clothes several times. I was complaining about how hot it was in that room, and my husband reassured me that sweating due to the excess heat was a good thing because I could sweat the fever out.
