Loud HVAC can’t be fixed
My HVAC unit makes a high pitch whistle sound and it drives me bonkers.
- Thankfully you can only hear the whistle outside and it doesn’t do it all the time.
If you happen to be outdoors when it happens though, it is so loud. It is almost like hearing a train whistle. It is so noisy. I have trouble focusing on other things due to it. I would really like to call a HVAC contractor, make the repair and call it a day. Everyday that I live with the noise is another ten bucks I would spend on the repair bill. I would pay quite a bit on the HVAC repair if I knew it would fix it. Thankfully I did some googling first and found that people with my brand of HVAC also experience the same thing. The model year is also known for being an abnormally loud one. I was on a chat site with people who own the same equipment as me. Everyone has a noisy system and it apparently can’t be fixed. One guy listed the HVAC repairs he got done to his system. He basically replaced everything from the outside coming in the system to stop the noise. He has a pretty much brand new system and it still makes the noise. Apparently it is just a quirk of the system and you need to deal with it. My HVAC equipment is 17 years old. I am hoping it will die pretty quick and I can get something that is more modern and much quieter.
